Broadacre Crops

Broadacre systems—from cereals and pulses to cotton—demand efficient nutrient cycling, optimized water management, and robust disease suppression across vast fields. Metagen’s biostimulant treatments are engineered to:

· Boost Disease Suppression: Stimulates beneficial pest-suppressive microbes in the soil, reducing incidents of soil-borne pathogens such as Verticillium in cotton and protecting crop health.

· Enhance Nutrient Availability: Activates native soil microbes to improve nitrogen and phosphorus cycling, making essential nutrients more accessible throughout broadacre fields.

· Improve Soil Structure: Microbial exudates bind soil particles into a stable crumb structure, enhancing aggregation, aeration, and water infiltration for stronger root systems and better trafficability.

· Optimize Water-use Efficiency: Improved soil physical properties boost water capture and retention, helping crops maintain productivity under moisture variability.

Application Methods for Broadacre Crops

Digestor:

Rate: 1–2 L/ha for nutrient-use efficiency; 4 L/ha for disease suppression

Method: Pre-Plant (up to 4 weeks before seeding): Incorporate with cover crop, manure, compost, or other organic matter; apply with pre-emergent herbicide; or boom-spray alone. At planting: Liquid injection (minimum 30 L water), boom spray, or banded application.

Frequency: Every crop cycle.

Explore Case Studies and Resources:

Wheat and Sorgum Yield Trials

Digestor delivered a 330 kg/ha gain in wheat and a 720 kg/ha boost in sorghum (4:1 ROI).

Mungbean Disease Suppression

A 300 kg/ha yield increase (8:1 ROI) with significant Fusarium reduction when Digestor was used alongside manure.
